The Billy Graham association will be running highly recommended classes to help communicate Jesus to our friends. These will be led by John North. They will run over 6 Thursday nights, commencing March 1.

Will Graham dinner in May

The Billy Graham evangelistic association will be presenting an evangelistic event in Bathurst! Will Graham is the grandson of Billy and also the keynote speaker of a relaxed dinner on Mount Panorama. Please consider inviting your friends who do not yet know Jesus to the dinner in May, 2012.

Rodney Macready

Our minister, Rodney Macready, trained at Morling College. Following college, he served as Associate Pastor at Toongabbie Baptist and later as Pastor of Morisset Baptist. In between, he lectured at the Christian Leaders’ Training College in Papua New Guinea. He commenced as Pastor of Bathurst Evangelical in June 2006.

He is married to Lesley. Their son and his family live in the western suburbs of Sydney. Their daughter lives in Newcastle.

Lesley enjoys teaching Scripture and currently teaches in Bathurst, South Bathurst, Eglinton and Raglan Public Schools.

Mark Sutton

Mark is our Associate Pastor. He trained at Moore Theological College and ministered in several Anglican Churches in the Armidale Diocese, as well as Bathust Community Church before coming to BEC. He is married to
Rosie and they have three adult children, all involved in Christian ministry. Mark and Rosie have also recently become grandparents for the first time.
Apart from his family and ministry, Mark’s interests are generally centred around things with wheels. He is a keen cyclist and would be right into motorsport if he thought he could justify it! He and Rosie have been married since 1980, and have lived in the Blue Mountains, Tamworth, Sydney, Guyra, Barraba, Narrabri and now Bathurst.
Daughter, Prue (married to Sam, with grand-daughther Olivia) lives in Newcastle, as does their son Stephen, who is studying at the University of Newcastle. Their second daughter, Lyndal, is married to Jono and lives on the Central Coast. Mark and Rosie’s home is in Kelso.

Overseers

Overseers (also known as elders) are appointed by the Church, every two years to assist the pastors. The present overseers are David Lee, David McKay and Mark Morrison. Administration of our material affairs takes place through our Administration Committee.

Sunday School

Sunday School is for infants and primary school-aged kids – and it’s a lot of fun!

There are two classes – a younger group, ‘Adventurers’ for 4 to 6 year olds, and an older class, ‘Over the Top’ for those from 7 to 11. These classes are taught by various members of the church on a roster basis, while the lesson content is based on the CEP curriculum.

Usually, the children are in church for the first 20 minutes or so before they head out for Sunday School excitement. This means all sorts of activities that not only help the kids learn about God’s plan for his world, but how they can be God’s friends too.
